FunFact is designed to be private by default. The app does not require an account, does not show advertising and does not sell personal data. This policy explains what stays on your device and what is processed by the services needed to provide optional subscriptions.
The short version: your display name, interests, themes, favourites, collections, reading progress and reminder choices are stored locally on your device. Apple processes App Store purchases, and RevenueCat receives limited purchase information and an anonymous app-user identifier to verify funfact_premium access.
1. Who we are
FunFact (the “app”, “we” or “us”) is the mobile app described on this website. For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@fit-coach.app.
2. Data that stays on your device
The following information is used to operate and personalise FunFact and is stored locally on your device:
- Your display name and onboarding choices, such as interests, learning goal, knowledge level, theme and app icon.
- Facts you have seen or read, favourites, saved facts and collection names and membership.
- Your progress, streak information and reminder schedule.
- App settings and locally cached catalogue content.
FunFact does not provide an account-based cloud sync for this information. If you uninstall the app, local data may be removed by the operating system. Keep a device backup if you want to preserve it.
3. Data processed by service providers
Only the limited information needed for the following purposes leaves the device:

Apple and RevenueCat process information under their own terms and privacy policies. FunFact does not intentionally send your display name, favourites, collection contents or reading history to these providers.
4. Notifications and permissions
If you allow notifications, FunFact schedules reminders locally on your device using the schedule you choose. You can change or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings. FunFact does not need access to your contacts, location, microphone, camera or photos.
5. What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not display third-party advertising or build an advertising profile.
- We do not require an account, password or social login.
- We do not intentionally collect the contents of your saved facts or collections on a server.
6. Legal bases (EU/EEA)
Where the GDPR applies, we process data on the following bases: providing the app and its features, performing and managing purchases you request, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and reliable. Notifications are scheduled after you grant permission, which you can withdraw at any time.
7. Retention
Local app data remains on your device until you remove it or uninstall FunFact. Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase-related records according to their own retention policies and legal obligations. We do not keep a separate FunFact account database.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Because most FunFact data is local, you can manage it directly in the app or on your device. For a privacy request about information processed by FunFact, email contact@fit-coach.app. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
9. Children
FunFact is not directed at children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. International processing
Apple and RevenueCat may process data in countries other than your own. They apply the safeguards described in their respective privacy policies and, where required, appropriate transfer mechanisms.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as FunFact changes. We will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app.
